MUSC stalwart leaves the club PDF Print E-mail

In the past few days, Alex De La Torre has informed the committee of his decision to resign from his post of men's reserves coach in order to assume a senior coaching position elsewhere.

Alex De La Torre has been a loyal servant of Monash University Soccer Club for over two decades - as a player since 1987, as a committee member in a number of seasons, and as coach of men's reserves or seniors since 2001. His vast list of achievements includes awards and titles as a player, and more recently, back-to-back championship titles as the coach of the men's reserves.

Earlier this year at Presentation Night, the club inducted Alex as a life member and unveiled a new perpetual award for men's reserves, an Alex De La Torre Best & Fairest.

While the club is naturally disappointed to be losing a club stalwart like Alex, it also fully understands and appreciates the reasons for his decision, and would like to wish him the best of success in his new position. Once again, the club would like to thank Alex for many, many years of loyal service, and hopes to see him back at the club on regular basis.
