Past results (Intervarsity Games 1948-1992)

The Intervarsity Games (or I.V.) were the precursor to the Australian University Games. They were run and organised on an individual sport basis. These are the results for the soccer I.V. that have been sourced from various club documents.

The first appearance of Monash University at I.V. was in 1965 - the year of the club's founding.

Recollections of Emmery Bihary in his speech @ 50th anniversary

"We entered a team in the 1965 Intervarsity, held in Armidale (northern NSW) and were beaten in the final by the University of NSW.

I was fortunate enough to be named Captain of the all-Australian team, with Jim McDonald and Jim Mitchell also making the team.

It was a great honour for all of us and especially for Monash University.

I was also honoured with a Full Blue at this time. 1968

The following year Intervarsity was held in Adelaide and we came third.

The year after that is was held at Monash and, as usual, Doug came to the party and we had four ground and change rooms.

The Intervarsity competition was certainly a mjaor factor in getting this club on the map."
